June 2024 – Pride Month at University of Warsaw

06 06 2025
June is celebrated as Pride Month – visibility and support for LGBT+ people
The choice of date is not accidental because it commemorates the events at the Stonewall Bar in New York, where in June 1969 there were riots between LGBT+ people and the police, who once again organized a raid to persecute the community. Stonewall has become a symbol of the fight for rights – equality, respect, safety, tolerance and acceptance.
At the University of Warsaw, we respect equality and diversity. We want everyone to feel safe and at home here.

- find support among people with similar experiences,
- share their experiences regarding, among others: coming out or minority stress,
- better understand their emotions related to gender identity or sexual orientation,
- cope with difficulties, e.g. in the transition process,
- learn to create closer friendships or romantic relationships.
