How to behave and how to speak in order to avoid unequal treatment

Discrimination and, more broadly, unequal treatment are widespread phenomena and can be encountered every day. At the same time, it is not always clear whether we are dealing with legally prohibited discrimination or, e.g., rude or crude behaviour. You can find practical guidance on specific behaviour with commentary on this website. We hope that this will help raise awareness and increase knowledge of unequal treatment.

Let us remember that at the University of Warsaw, protection from discrimination and unequal treatment applies to all members of our community. Everyone has the right to be treated with respect and to feel safe. We also encourage you to respond to any disturbing situations – either as a witness to unwanted behaviour or as a victim.
