Conference on Intersectionality and the Challenges Facing Higher Education

How can higher education institutions better address the diverse experiences and needs of different social groups in research, teaching and policy? These questions will be explored during the conference “Intersectionality for Change: Opportunities and Challenges in Higher Education Research, Teaching and Policy”, organised as part of the InterHEd project at the Jagiellonian University.

The conference will focus on the role of intersectionality in understanding inequalities and developing more inclusive approaches to higher education. It will provide a forum for discussion and knowledge exchange on the challenges and opportunities facing universities today.

The programme includes keynote lectures by two distinguished scholars:

  • Margaret Ohia-Nowak“Blackness and Anti-Blackness in Polish Education. An Intersectional Discourse Perspective”;
  • Yvette Taylor“Practising Intersectionality Still: Class, Queerness and the Politics of Higher Education in Crisis Times”.

The event is intended for researchers, academic staff, students and all those interested in higher education, equality policies and social justice. Participants may attend either in person in Kraków or online.

Registration is available via the online registration form.
