Equality at the UW 2024

We are pleased to announce that the Equality at the UW (2024) research study, which will serve as the basis for the creation of a new Inclusive Gender Equality Plan, is underway. It is being conducted by the University of Warsaw Equality Team in collaboration with the University of Warsaw Center for Women’s and Gender Issues, Center for Research on Prejudice, and the Education Quality Evaluation Workshop (PEJK).

During the development of the first edition of the Gender Equality Plan, a study Equality at UW (2019)  (available in Polish) was carried out. Currently, a second edition of the study is underway, which includes conducting focus group interviews, a university-wide survey, and an analysis of existing documents, procedures, and databases to identify potential gaps.

The main portion of the study was completed in the first half of 2024. Focus group interviews were conducted and included the following groups:

  • students (in Polish and English),
  • doctoral students (in Polish and in English),
  • researchers and lecturers (in Polish and in English),
  • persons employed in administration and other non-academic positions (in Polish),
  • dean’s colleges (in Polish).

The most important conclusions from the qualitative study are available in the form of a presentation here.

The second part of the study – a university-wide survey was prepared in December 2024. It is aimed at:

  • students,
  • doctoral students,
  • researchers and lecturers,
  • persons employed in administration and other non-academic positions.

On the base of a university survey, the report “Equal Treatment” was created.

The results of the study will be used to prepare a new edition of the Inclusive Gender Equality Plan for UW for 2025-2029
