Inclusive Gender Equality Plan for the UW for 2025 – 2029

The Gender Equality Plan is a strategic document prepared on the basis of a diagnosis of the experiences and needs of our University community in the context of respecting values such as equality, diversity and anti-discrimination. The first GEP was introduced in 2020. Works on the new edition of the Gender Equality Plan has begun.

The next Plan will respond to the needs of the academic community, understood as individuals with different needs and experiences. The new Plan will therefore include activities aimed at a wide category of people and groups, hence its name: Inclusive Gender Equality Plan.

EQUALITY AT THE UW 2024 – the study research that is the basis for the development of the new Inclusive Gender Equality Plan for years 2025-2029.

While developing the first edition of the Gender Equality Plan, a study Equality at UW (2018-2019) was carried out.

In the first half of 2024 the UW Equality Team and the UW Women’s and Gender Research Centre have conducted the qualitative part of the research – Equality at UW 2024.

Focus group interviews were conducted and included the following groups:

  • students (in Polish and English),
  • doctoral students (in Polish and in English),
  • researchers and lecturers (in Polish and in English),
  • persons employed in administration and other non-academic positions (in Polish),
  • dean’s colleges (in Polish).

The most important conclusions from the qualitative study are available in the form of a presentation here.

At the end of 2024, a university-wide survey was conducted (in Polish and English), constituting the second part of the study carried out by UW Equality Team  in cooperation with the Center for Research on Prejudice and the Quality Evaluation Unit (PEJK). The survey is addressed to:

  • students,
  • doctoral students,
  • researchers and lecturers,
  • persons employed in administration and other non-academic positions.

On the base of a university survey, the report “Equal treatment” was created. It’s shortened version is avaliable in English here.
