Guest Lecture by Prof. Anne Choike – Women on Boards

The Student Research Group Prawo a Płeć (Law and Gender) announced a meeting with Anne Choike Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Law School, that will take place on Thursday, March 5.

Professor Choike directs a transactional law clinic and teaches courses in entrepreneurship law, corporate law, and securities regulation. Her academic, teaching, and practical work focuses on supporting entrepreneurship—particularly among economically underrepresented communities—as well as on the legal and institutional frameworks shaping economic development and sustainable growth.

During her lecture entitled “Women on Boards”, Professor Choike will discuss:

  • the U.S. model of clinical legal education in the field of transactional law,

  • the role of law clinics within the American legal education system,

  • practical forms of legal support provided to entrepreneurs,

  • the legal, institutional, and social factors influencing women’s access to top leadership positions in corporations in the United States,

  • the role of corporate law, corporate governance standards, and equality-driven initiatives in shaping more inclusive leadership structures.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for in-depth reflection on the current state and future development of gender equality in corporate leadership in the United States, as well as on the broader significance of clinical education in shaping modern legal training.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 8:00 PM at Collegium Iuridicum II (Lipowa 4), room 1.3. Detailed information is available on the Facebook event.

We warmly encourage you to join.
